bowls

Here are some bowls that came out of my mold. It took a few tries to get it right, but it’s working so I’m happy.

tumblers

I decided to throw one tumbler a day so my throwing skills don’t get rusty. And it’s a good opportunity to play with some forms and ideas I have. And it just feels good to make pots sometimes.

Small teapot show

Here is the virtual show of the small teapot competition that Heath and I got into. Also Julia Feld one of the graduate applicants has two pieces in the show so take a look.

Here are some cute little critters I carved just for my wife.

The wonders of slip casting

Although not perfect my mold works and I was able to cast a set of mugs. Next time I make a mold I’m going to make sure that the cast piece will come out with a lot more ease. I’m going to make the original price bigger to compensate for how much they shrink, because the clay has already shrunk when I make the mold, the casts are going to shrink again and you end up with very small mugs.

Here is my completed three part mold. I think it’s kind of neat to see my pot in three parts. Hopefully I will be able to cast some sweet mugs from it.
